Mont Saint Michel

Mont Saint Michel guided tour (SOLD OUT)

The cult of Saint Michael was introduced to the Mont in 708, and it became one of the most important medieval pilgrimage centers. The Benedictines built an abbey there from the 10th century onwards. A place which was challenged by the assaults of man, time and the elements. During the Hundred Years' War (14th-15th centuries), the Mont's heroic resistance to the English made it a symbolic place of national identity. After being abandoned by the monks in 1790, the abbey was listed as a historic monument in 1874. The entire site has been restored to its former splendor. This excursion includes the bus transportation and a guided tour of the Abbey.

Duration: 5h30m.
Start from Rennes at 14:00, back in Rennes by 19:30.

Buses will depart from 32 Pl. des Lices, which is a 5-minute walk from the conference venue.
