Seven National Facilities Receive the ACTRIS Label
Published: 1, July, 2026
During the 7th General Assembly, seven Observational platforms were awarded the ACTRIS National Facility Label. This recognition confirms that these stations have met rigorous standards for atmospheric measurements and data quality. The achievement marks a pivotal step in harmonizing long-term atmospheric observations across Europe, ensuring that critical data on aerosols, clouds, and trace gases is consistent, interoperable, and reliable for researchers and policymakers.
The National Facilities awarded the ACTRIS label are:
- Barcelona Aerosol Supersite, Spain (Aerosol in situ)
- Pallas Atmosphere-Ecosystem Supersite, Finland (Aerosol in situ)
- SMEAR II (Hyytiälä), Finland (Aerosol in situ)
- AGORA, Spain (Aerosol Remote Sensing)
- JOYCE (Jülich Observatory for Cloud Evolution), Germany (Cloud Remote Sensing)
- Meteorological Observatory Lindenberg, Germany (Cloud Remote Sensing)
- SIRTA (Site Instrumental de Reserche par Télédétection Atmosphérique), France (Cloud Remote Sensing)
Congratulations to the dedicated teams of scientists and technical personnel on reaching this important milestone. Their excellent work and commitment reinforce our collective mission to provide high-quality, long-term atmospheric data to advance understanding of the atmospheric composition.
