The National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) is a distributed research centre of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), a part of UK  Research and Innovation (UKRI).  Established in 2006, it has 120 core staff and an annual budget of £9M. It  researches key environmental issues relating to climate, weather processes and atmospheric composition,  and provides ground-based and airborne instrumentation, access to computer models and a data centre.  NCAS is involved in the Environmental ESFRI RIs ICOS and ACTRIS.
