ACTRIS Community Meeting Bucharest 2017

 

Date and location Monday, 11 September (starting 14:00 local time) – Friday, 15 September 2017 (ending 13:00 local time).

The meeting is hosted by the University Politehnica of Bucharest, and will take place at the Central Library. The Central Library is situated 200m from the UPB Rectorate building (where the ILRC28 was organised in June):

There will be a meeting fee to cover the coffee breaks and logistics (50€), and additional costs for a short Bucharest tour (20€) and social dinner (30€), see below for more information.

Programme The Bucharest meeting is a one-week meeting open to all ACTRIS beneficiaries and associated partners. The aim of the meeting is to inform and gather feedback from the operators of ACTRIS Central facilities (Centres of Expertise, Data Centre) and of National Facilities (Observation platforms, Simulation Chambers, Mobile Labs), and to discuss the project progress and organize the work in all ACTRIS PPP WPs, including interlinkages with the operational activities.

Both, the technical workshop - focusing on the requirements and implementation of CF and NF in ACTRIS, and the provision of ACTRIS services - and the more project-oriented PPP meeting are strongly connected and should be attended as a whole.

Accommodation

Accommodation is to be booked and paid by participants themselves. Since the venue of the event is in the centre of Bucharest, with good public connections (subway and public buses), there are various option for accommodation: from hostels to 5* hotels. Suggested hotels with various standards and rates are indicated below (1 euro = 4.6 lei):

Social events

A short sightseeing tour of Bucharest will be organized on Wednesday afternoon (September 13, 16h00-19h00), before the social dinner. The costs are 20€. (visit at the Parliament house + Village museum + short city tour by bus)

A social dinner is planned on Wednesday evening (September 13, 19h00-23h00 at Piranha Club). The costs are 30€.

Attendance to either event will have to be confirmed upon registration. The payment details will be communicated soon.  
Travel info

Henri Coanda / Otopeni airport (OTP) is the closest airport from Bucharest. Transfer from the centre of Bucharest:

By taxi: ca. 30 minutes, price approx. 50 lei (~10 euros)

By public bus (line 783): ca. 1 hour. Price for one trip is 3,5 lei (there is a kiosk/machine where you can buy tickets, in front of Arrivals, you can not buy the tickets on the bus).

Coffee breaks: lobby, 2nd floor.
Lunch: several restaurants nearby + canteen in the Rectorate building, 5th floor.
Video, sound, webex in the plenary room.
CF leaders: you have to use your own laptops for the splinter meetings, no video or sound available.
