Finnish Meteorological Institute
Address: Erik Palménin aukio 1, 00560, Helsinki, Finland
Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) is located next to the university campus area. The nearest pubic transit stop is Kumpulan Kampus, served by trams 6/8 and buses.
From the airport: The easiest way to get to the meeting venue from the airport is to take train I or P to Helsinki Railway Station and then change to any bus that starts with number 7. Get off at the stop Kumpulan Kampus, cross the main road and walk up the forested hill. FMI is the left-most building. You need a ticket for zones ABC for this journey.
From the city centre: Almost any bus that starts with number 7 will get you from the city centre to Kumpulan Kampus. From the stop cross the main road and walk up the forested hill. FMI is the left-most building. You need a ticket for zones AB for this journey.
Tickets from the driver are more expensive than if purchased in advance. And most bus and tram stations do not have ticket machines. It is advised to purchase your tickets beforehand at the airport, main railway station or at many R-kioski sales points around the city. You can get single tickets or tickets for any number of days between 1 and 7. If you are staying in Helsinki city centre or close to the meeting venue, you most likely need a ticket for zones AB. You can, of course, also purchase your tickets on the mobile HSL app.
Taxi from the airport to the meeting venue will cost ~35 EUR.
